Cici & Grandpa are here!

CICI AND GRANDPA ARE HERE!!! YAY!!! I've been waiting for a long long long time for them to come see me and the day finally arrived yesterday :) They made the long 12 hour trek starting on Friday and finally arrived yesterday afternoon!!! Daddy and mommy and I spent most of yesterday cleaning in anticipation of their arrival and since it's been so SO hot down in Florida this weekend I even squeezed in a little swim in my kiddie pool :) I'm QUITE the fan of water lately.... I discovered the bathtub faucet a few weeks ago and haven't been able to get enough of it since. Mommy tried to find a connector for the bathtub faucet to slow down the flow of the water so we don't run out of hot water so quickly while I'm playing in it.... but she couldn't find anything good so I've resorted to taking tubs in the kitchen sink (now that I'm a good sitter). I am a BIG fan!!! Endless water and my little toosh fits perfectly in the sink :)

A grumpy bath

Silly daddy

I got shots at the pediatrician's office this week :( HOW COULD THEY?!?!?! I already feel yucky, and have for a while with this nasty snot in my nose, and they decide to add to my misery with a couple of shots?? Sigh.... I, of course, developed a fever, and a really bad attitude for a couple days after but I've since recovered.... I took off from therapy for most of the week but I have to say it hasn't slowed me down one bit! Mommy is starting to think that we might stay home more and go there less because I seem to excel on the days/weeks when we don't go!! My two big accomplishments this week..... saying syllables again :) Remember I used to say them way, way back after Christmas, but as quickly as I learned how to say them, I  just as quickly forgot :( BUT, I am happy to report I have found them again... my favorite is "mamamamamama" or "ama" or "b, b, b, b." Mommy and daddy keep trying to get me to say "da da da da," but they need to be PATIENT, one step at a time people!!!

My second big accomplishment is figuring out how to roll. Now I know I've been working on this task for QUITE some time and it's been a BEAR of a task. First of all, how well would you roll if you had very little control over your right arm and leg? My arm always gets stuck underneath me when I try to roll to my right, and it just won't move into position when I try to roll to my left.... I managed to figure out how to roll off my belly in one direction, but mommy insists I do it BOTH ways (still working on that one). Thankfully, though, I have figured out how to roll ONTO my belly from my back.... in EITHER direction!!!!!!! Y A Y!!!!!! That may not seem like a big deal but for me, after months and months of hard work, I am happy to be mobile, even if it's just from side to side! Now I have better access to the toys I want to play with and can roll away from mommy when she tries to change my diaper (I like giving her a hard time sometimes). Now mommy is trying to get me to put weight on my arms and hold myself up... something about crawling??? I use my arms to reach for toys and grab people's faces (noses and hair are my favorite), NOT to hold myself up! That's HER job!!! Unfortunately she doesn't realize that so while she thinks she's teaching me, I'm the one in fact teaching her, hehe!

Did I mention, btw, that I have grown so much that I graduated to the big boy car seat??? I'm not any more a fan of it than the last one I had, but at least my legs don't hang off the edge of this one and I can sit up a little more...

How do I look??

We have a VERY busy week ahead of us.... tomorrow Aunt Mollie is flying in and we're planning to go swimming at Doral again (wahoo!). Then we have a baseball game, tennis tournament, boating, and some Easter fun planned!!! I can't WAIT :)

A week of recovery

Last week was a CRAZY busy week for me so this week mommy and I are trying to take it easy and rest up!! I took my first ride in my birthday Radio Flyer wagon with mommy and daddy and I'm pretty sure I'm a fan!!! I love walks no matter the method, but riding solo in my wagon made me feel like a big boy... plus my Mickey Mouse balloon came along for the ride so it was basically perfect :)

All ready

Yeah it's bright I need a hat guys

Hmmm, so this is how the big boys do it huh?

Mommy and daddy and I went to see Thomas the Train on Sunday but honestly mommy and daddy were pretty disappointed. I'm always happy when we're all together as a family so it doesn't matter to me what we do, and the actual Thomas the Train was PRETTY cool! But the train ride was really boring and slow and there wasn't much to look at, and the rest of the place was more like a really bad carnival than a Thomas the Train fun day.... still, I got to ride my first tram and my first real train, so all in all it was a success :)

I'm READY!!!

Waiting on the tram

Hi mommy

Who knew there was a Gold Coast Railroad Museum

Waiting for daddy to get us some pizza

How do I look in this hat mommy, be honest

So this is what a train looks like huh?

What is this window doing in my way?

I'll ride with daddy first

Ok mommy's turn

I can't see mommy!!!

Ahhh, that's better!

See anything good?

Hmmm, interesting...

Can I go back to daddy now?

Thank you!!

What is this daddy, a watch?

How interesting, what does it do?

Alright moving on, these look interesting...

The boring view haha

No wonder I found my shoes more interesting

Whoa that's a big train

Posing for pics...

...and some more

There's Thomas behind us

And a cool John Deere tractor

More Thomas

In other news, I really like sitting in the activity garden my Aunt Kieran sent down to me... mommy likes to put it outside in the afternoons so we can play and get fresh air...

Hi mom

You wanna come in too?

TOO BAD, you're too big!!

I went to the GI doctor with mommy today... he says I weigh 18 lbs, 13 oz! WOW I really am a chunky monkey! I gained 6 oz in a week, go me! He printed my growth chart for mommy and daddy to hang up, he was so proud he thought we should show that bad boy off!!! He said I can start eating baby food along with the rice cereal mommy's been giving me... not that it makes a difference to me since it goes straight into my belly but hey, at least my tummy will enjoy some yummy new food :)

Superstar ME!!

Nothing much else to tell.... apparently I have daddy's allergies because I'm going on three straight weeks of snotty boogers and a choked up throat!! My mornings have become miserable as I wake up and can't breathe, then proceed to choke and gag on all the snot that leaks into my throat. I haven't really wanted anything in my mouth, at ALL, lately because of the snot so speech therapy is kind of a drag. Mommy thinks that having a break from therapy sometimes, though, does the body good... I took most of last week off with my birthday and Jackson celebrations, so come Saturday when we finally had some time to play in my playroom area I decided to show off a little by doing some rolling around on my own. I'm really starting to get the hang of this!! I can roll off my back onto my belly in either direction and from my belly onto my back REALLY good going one way and most of the time going the other... mommy keeps putting my favorite toys JUST out of my reach so I have to roll to reach them... I keep telling her that's NOT nice but she has no sympathy sigh.

Mommy's also figured out my secret love for Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I was careful not to let her know how much I like him for fear she'd use him in one of her therapeutic, get me to work harder if I want to see him ploys.... unfortunately I just can't contain my smile when Mickey comes out to ask me if I want to go inside his clubhouse.... of COURSE I DO!!! And that hot-dog dance they all do at the end... I just want to dance and since with them!! Sooo now mommy makes me lay on the bouncy ball on my belly and push up on my arms in order to see Mickey..... it's ok though, now that she knows I like him she puts him on for me whenever she can :)

Mickey mouse from my high chair...

Mickey Mouse from the laundry basket....

I even got daddy hooked....

Yep, we're both hooked!!

Remembering my brother....

Yesterday was a day to remember and honor my twin brother Jackson William Lindsey!!! He is forever my personal angel... always watching over me and visiting my dreams... he keeps me calm and makes me strong and never leaves my side :)

We decided we will always have a family adventure on Jackson's day to honor him, sooooo this year was a trip to the Miami Zoo! I've never been to a zoo so this was a whole new experience for me :) Mommy has been teaching me the animal names in English and Spanish for EVER now so it was super fun to meet these guys in person!!! We started the day with a mass at St. B to pray for Jackson, then we went to daddy's favorite restaurant for breakfast, Cracker Barrel... then off to the zoo.... :)

Breakfast at Cracker Barrel

No mommy I don't want anything thanks

All those snakes and frogs made me tired so daddy and I are taking a break

YES!!! All rested, let's continue :)

Daddy, can I borrow your sunglasses?

Hey, even I need a break!

I got a 20 minute snooze in

Not quite awake yet, but mommy said Giraffes and I couldn't resist
